Workspace roles and AI Coding visibility

Understand owner, member, Viewer, and Policy administrator access.

SuperPenguin separates workspace administration from AI Coding visibility.

Workspace roles

Owner

The person who creates a team workspace becomes its first owner. Owners administer the workspace and can:

  • Invite or remove members.
  • Change workspace roles.
  • Manage billing and company integrations.
  • Send Desktop installation emails.
  • View organization-wide AI Coding information.
  • Grant Viewer and Policy administrator access.

Member

Invited engineers join with the Member role. A member belongs to the shared workspace but sees only their own AI Coding information unless they receive an additional AI Coding access grant.

AI Coding access grants

AI Coding grants do not replace the Owner or Member workspace role.

Viewer

A Viewer can see organization-wide AI Coding information, including aggregate team and PR Cost Attribution views when the workspace plan includes them.

Policy administrator

A Policy administrator can:

  • See organization-wide AI Coding information.
  • Manage AI Coding policy.
  • Grant or remove Viewer access.

Only a workspace owner can appoint or remove a Policy administrator.

Where access is managed

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. Find the engineer in Members.
  4. Use AI Coding access to grant the required permission.

Access is enforced by the signed-in user's active workspace. Switching to a personal account returns the user to their private data scope.
